Driving in New Zealand is a pretty stress-free affair as we have far less traffic on our roads than other developed countries, plus we also have spectacular scenery to make your journey much more enjoyable.
On the flip side though, our rugged landscape and rapidly changing weather can catch out the most experienced drivers, and this is compounded when combined with driving larger and unfamiliar vehicles such as rental trucks.
At USAVE we want our van and truck rental customers to have a great rental experience and as safety is a big priority for us we thought we’d share some truck driving safety tips. Our rental trucks, vans and minibuses are easy to drive and the majority can be operated on a class 1 driving licence, but it’s still worth bearing in mind the basics, especially if you’ve recently relocated to New Zealand and are unfamiliar with our road code or if you haven’t driven a van or truck before.
