Driving in New Zealand is a pretty stress-free affair as we have far less traffic on our roads than other developed countries, plus we also have spectacular scenery to make your journey much more enjoyable. On the flip side though, our rugged landscape and rapidly changing weather can catch out the most experienced drivers, and this is compounded when combined with driving larger and unfamiliar vehicles such as rental trucks. Taking matters into your own hands can be a great way to save costs when moving house. Whether it’s across-country or a short distance, if you can find fit, strong helpers who are willing to lend a hand, there’s no reason not to orchestrate your moving day yourself. However, one critical area that may trip people up is when driving large, heavy truck rentals.
